Vango Orchy 600

The Vango Orchy 600 is good value but although categorised as a 6 man tent, it would be a bit uncomfortable for six persons planning on spending more than a couple of days/nights in the tent, particularly if it's raining and you end up shut indoors. Fine for a festival weekend, however for more extended camping trips it's probably a bit more suitable for a family of four, or 4 close friends.

The tent is a mere 15.3kg in weight due to the Vango pre-angled Powerflex fibreglass poles and lightweight materials used which include a Protex 3000 durable polyester fly sheet (3000mm hydrostatic head) which will keep all but the heaviest rains out, and this weatherproofing is reinforced with taped seams, and a fully sewn-in groundsheet which will also keep the creepy crawlies out. For aeration it has multiple vents, and for views of the outside world there are two crystal clear windows.

The living room is quite spacious, and big enough for a small foldable table for a bit of lunch in the shade. With colour coded poles and fly sheet pitching first, this is an easy tent to put up and is a good choice for those who want a more luxurious and spacious tent but don't want to pay a heavy premium. It is probably not the best choice for a family who wants a luxury tent that will last for years of very regular use, but if you've got kids, they'll be wanting their own tents before you know, so for those in between years it's a good and inexpensive stop gap.
