Vango Force Ten Classic Mk5

The Vango Force Ten Mk5 is a design classic, and has been used for many years by Everest climbers. It is also a favourite of youth groups and explorers. Does it have many optional features? No, it doesn't, this tent does not have a cable entry point, as most users of this tent do not take a television away with them when they go camping.

This is an easy to erect, standard, original 'A-Frame tent' that is solid in it's construction, and is designed to withstand the worst weather. It is not cheap, however, it is a quality piece of equipment, and you will not need to be continually maintaining it as it is built to last. Who is this tent suitable for? With a lack of windows some people may be put off, so this tent is probably more suitable for hardier outdoors types, and not ideal for families as there is minimal living space if you get stuck in the rain.

Relatively heavy for its size, it's a trade off of strength versus ease of carrying, and the 'A-frame' construction makes it able to withstand higher winds than most dome tents, and is also a lot quieter in adverse weather conditions.

Ideal for 'serious' campers and the choice of youth and exploration groups, the Force Ten does what it says on the tin, is a no-frills quality piece of kit. The colour is not there for aesthetic reasons, and although it looks good, the bright orange is to enable the tent to be seen if you get into trouble. Is it a luxury tent? not in the standard sense, but, for some campers the security and durability it offers is a necessity.
